Education & Development

As a society we have noticed that many key values are somewhat lacking especially in the Youth of today. All of the values listed below can add considerable gain to an individuals character and personal development. These are personal attributes that we believe ECS can help develop within each of our clients.

Elite Commando Survival offer a half or full term programme where we visit schools on a weekly basis and deliver our syllabus focusing on the above values and aligning them with the ethos of each school. We work with groups sizes of 10 – 40 children who face challenges within school. These challenges can include poor behaviour, low confidence, anxiety, low ambitions and self esteem. We have had overwhelming results with our programmes in various local schools. Our no-nonsense yet approachable attitude has allowed our experienced coaches to build trust and respect with students. Practical team building sessions are combined with classroom based work and physical training, allowing us to get a positive response from pupils who may otherwise be struggling to engage.

We work closely with teachers at all times to give regular updates and feedback on the progress of students and to keep up with current affairs within the school.

As well as focusing on groups of children across our programmes, we can also offer a one off full day of activities where we can work with the entire school. The day will include a round robin of activities where children will take part in a bushcraft, assault course and team building tasks. We can tailor the day to suit the school and change events to help meet the children’s needs.

To discuss your requirements please contact us and we will always help where we feel we can make a difference.

The Elite Commando Survival programme has been spot on for our targeted group of students in year 10. Key messages have been underpinned by practical based activities all delivered by two excellent role models in Grant and Matt. The programme has met the needs of the boys involved and has helped to improve their attitude and reduce their number of behaviour referrals. Grant is clearly very committed and passionate in making a difference to the lives of the young people involved.

St. Peter’s has found ECS to be an inspiring and positive company to use in partnership with our pastoral team. We ran a 5 week pilot course with 10 students and progress was monitored in both behaviour and achievements but also in their attitude to learning in the classroom. After the programme we found 8 of the 10 had made positive progress with the majority not only eradicating the negative behaviour from their actions but also showing a better attitude to the classwork.

– Anthony Lax, Assistant Head i/c KS4, St. Peter’s RC High School, Gloucester

I would definitely recommend this as an intervention. There was a clear impact on the behaviour of our targeted Year 8 boys in quite a short time. It was a great opportunity for them to have our expectations reinforced in a completely different way.

– Josie Hilton, Assistant Headteacher Churchdown School

It was good because it helped me to respect my teachers. I used to have loads of detentions but I haven’t had any this term so I know that it has improved my behaviour in school. The best thing about the course was the physical activities because I want to join the army and be a Marine when I am older. I could connect with the teachers because they know what it means to be in the Royal Marines.
